What the cost covers, so no line item surprises you.
Figures depend on your medical plan, so we give ranges on the first call and an itemised written breakdown afterwards. This page shows exactly how that breakdown is laid out.
What a surrogacy budget usually includes
- Agency and coordination fees.
- Fertility treatment and embryo creation.
- Medical screening and tests for the surrogate and the intended parents.
- The surrogate's medical care during pregnancy and delivery, and the support agreed with her.
- Legal fees for the agreements, with independent advice for everyone.
- Birth registration, DNA testing and the documents for your child's passport.
- Your own travel and stay in Nigeria.
What can change the total
The number of treatment cycles, medical complications, delays in the paperwork and the length of your stay all affect the final cost. We list these in the breakdown so you can plan for them, and we tell you when something is likely to move.
How we show you the numbers
After your first call you receive a written proposal. Every line is marked fixed or estimated, with the date each payment falls due. You can take it to your own advisers before you commit.
Ask for the breakdown
Tell us where you live and when you hope to start. We send the written breakdown within 24 hours of your call.
What your written breakdown looks like.
The layout is real. The amounts are filled in for your case, never before your call.
| Line item | What it covers | Status | When it is due |
|---|---|---|---|
| Agency and coordination | Our work from first call to paperwork | Fixed | Stated in your proposal |
| Fertility treatment | Cycles, embryo creation, transfer | Estimated | Per the clinic's plan |
| Medical screening | Tests for the surrogate and for you | Fixed | Before matching |
| Surrogate's care | Medical care and agreed support | Estimated | Per the agreement |
| Legal fees | Agreements, with independent advice for the surrogate | Fixed | Before signing |
| Birth and paperwork | Birth registration, DNA test, passport documents | Estimated | After the birth |
| Your travel and stay | Trips to Nigeria | Estimated | Paid by you directly |
Cost questions, answered.
Why don't you publish one price?
Because it depends on your medical plan, how many treatment cycles you need and how long you stay. A single published number would either be too low to be honest or too high to be useful. We give ranges on the call and a written breakdown within 24 hours.
In what currency do I pay, and in what order?
We explain this before you commit, and every payment is recorded in writing. Ask your own advisers to read the payment schedule before you agree to it.
Is anything refundable?
What is refundable, and when, is written into your agreement. We walk you through it on the call, and you should show it to your own lawyer.
What is not included?
Your own travel and stay, and anything that is outside the medical plan. The breakdown lists exclusions so nothing arrives later as a surprise.
