The law
Is surrogacy allowed in Nigeria?
Nigeria has no single national law on surrogacy. Lagos State has issued its own guidelines on assisted reproduction, and elsewhere arrangements rely on written agreements and independent legal advice. Laws can change, so confirm the position with your own lawyer.
Do I need my own lawyer?
Yes. We recommend independent legal advice in Nigeria and in your home country. The surrogate has her own advice as well. We are not a law firm and we do not give legal advice.
Who is the legal parent after the birth?
That depends on the law where you live, on the agreements, and on the registration and court steps that apply. Your lawyers explain it before you sign, and we coordinate the paperwork.
Can a single person use surrogacy?
Single people ask us about this often. Tell us your situation on the call and we will say plainly what is possible. Our article on starting a family alone may help.
I live in the UK or Canada. Can you help?
Talk to us, and talk to a lawyer at home first. Rules on recognising parenthood and on what can be paid or advertised differ, and we will tell you plainly if the route does not work for you. See the UK and Canada page.
Citizenship
Will my baby be a US citizen?
For most US families, the State Department looks for proof of a genetic link between the child and a US citizen parent, usually shown with a DNA test. We plan your case around that. A US immigration lawyer should confirm the steps for your situation.
Do we need DNA testing?
For US citizenship based on a genetic link, a DNA test is usually part of the process. We explain when it happens and who arranges it.
What if neither of us will be the genetic parent?
For the US route that can make things much harder, or close the route. Speak to a US immigration lawyer before you spend money, and we will be straight with you about what is and is not possible.
How long does the passport take?
Timing is set by the authorities and varies. We plan the steps in order and give you a realistic estimate after your first call.
The surrogate
Can we meet the surrogate?
Our standard is that you know who she is and she knows who you are. How and when you meet is agreed with her consent.
How is the surrogate chosen and looked after?
Surrogates go through medical and psychological evaluation, background checks, interviews and a review of their medical history. They have independent legal advice and are supported during and after the pregnancy.
Does the surrogate have her own lawyer?
Yes. Every surrogate gets independent legal advice before she signs anything. Her lawyer acts for her, not for us.
Can I choose the surrogate?
You are introduced to a screened surrogate, with her consent and yours. Matching is a decision for both sides.
What if the surrogate changes her mind, or there are complications?
These situations are covered in the written agreements signed before treatment starts, and we walk you through them on the call. We do not promise any outcome.
The process
How long does it take?
Plan on well over a year from the first call to the birth. We give you a realistic timeline after your first call.
What happens on the first call?
You tell us your story and your questions. We explain the process, give cost ranges and say honestly whether your situation fits. A written summary follows within 24 hours.
Do we have to travel to Nigeria?
Some stages need you in Nigeria. We tell you early which ones, and plan them around your work calendar. Everything else happens by phone and video.
Can my own doctor be involved?
Your own doctors are welcome to review the medical plan with you. The treatment itself is carried out by the clinic.
Do you also offer IVF and donor programs?
Yes. The team supports IVF, ICSI, IUI, egg and sperm donation, genetic screening, fertility preservation and laser assisted hatching, as well as surrogacy.
What does "checked at every step" mean?
Each of the six stages ends with something in writing that you can check and show to your own advisers: the summary, the plan, the agreements and the costs.
What happens after the birth?
Birth registration, DNA testing where it applies, your child's citizenship papers and passport, and the travel plan home. We guide each step.
Money
How much does it cost?
It depends on your medical plan. We give ranges on the first call and an itemised written breakdown within 24 hours. See what the cost covers.
Why don't you publish one price?
Because the real number depends on your medical plan, the number of treatment cycles and your stay. A single published figure would be either too low to be honest or too high to be useful.
In what currency do I pay?
We explain how payments are made, in what currency and in what order, before you commit. Every payment is recorded in writing.
Are there hidden costs?
The breakdown marks every line as fixed or estimated and lists what is excluded, so nothing should arrive as a surprise.
Privacy and trust
What do you do with my information?
We use what you send us to reply to you. We never send your messages or health details to advertising platforms. Read the privacy note.
Should I send my medical records?
Not on the website or in a first message. Keep them for the call, where we explain how they are handled.
How do I know you are legitimate?
Do not take our word for it. Our trust page shows how to check any agency, including us: the company register, the lawyers' enrolment and the doctors' registration. See how to verify us.
Do you guarantee a baby?
No. Nobody honestly can. We commit to doing each step properly and in writing, and to telling you the truth if something goes wrong.
What do you track on this website?
With your permission where the law asks for it, we count visits, scrolling and button clicks, to improve the site and measure our adverts. We never send your messages, your answers about your family or any health details to advertising platforms.
No question matches that search. Try another word, or ask us on a call.
